Jean Stubbs Jones

为纪念

Jean Stubbs Jones passed on September 6, 2021 with her children by her side.

She was born May 9, 1941 and reared in Myrtle Beach, S.C., the daughter of late Floyd and Gladys Stubbs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. 舍伍德 Jones, MD, of 道尔顿 and her brother-in-law, Charles Parham of 道尔顿.

She attended Coker College before she met the love of her life, 舍伍德, on the sunny steps of her church in Myrtle Beach. 总是, they agreed that the sun must have been shining through a window in Heaven and from that moment on they knew that God had led them to each other. They were married three months later on Thanksgiving Day 1961. Walking along the beaches of Myrtle Beach and St. Simons Island, Ga., collecting seashells and memories were some of the most precious moments they shared together and with the family they built.

In 1964, Jean and her family including two young sons, 舍伍德 III and Carlton, came to 道尔顿, Ga. Two years later, her daughter Ashley was born. Ever since their first Sunday in 道尔顿, Jean and her late husband were active members at First Baptist Church of 道尔顿. Along with being involved in the church community, Jean’s greatest devotion was to her family. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and always wanted them to experience the wonders of God’s Kingdom by sharing her love for the things most overlook, such as the sweet songs of birds, the rich colors of a homegrown garden, and the gentle comfort of laughing together with the ones you love.

There are many ways to depict the way she loved and lived, but the best is to say that those who were fortunate enough to know Jean were fortunate enough to hold on to a piece of Heaven.

Survivors include 舍伍德 III (Danielle) and their children, 艾薇, 加勒特, Mincey, 和Emani, of 道尔顿; Carlton (Della) and their daughters, Caroline and Lily, of Atlanta; Ashley Tiede and her daughter, 凯特琳, of 道尔顿; brother, Charles Stubbs (Margaret) of Charlotte, NC; brother, Robert Stubbs (Marie) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and sister-in-law, Emily Earle Parham of 道尔顿.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at First Baptist Church of 道尔顿. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-1 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Witnesses/Missions Fund at First Baptist Church of 道尔顿, 311 N Thornton Ave, 道尔顿, GA 30720.

Be part of our community, as we work together to learn, lead, and inspire.
